Deviprasad Shetty, President of the Udupi Taluk Gram Panchayat Federation
has warned of severe agitation if the government made any attempt to curtail the powers
of the gram panchayats.
“ The Udupi Legislator Raghupathi Bhat’s action of defending the
unauthorized collection of donation from students at the Government Girls’ PU College
at Udupi, only reveals the ignorance of the MLA,” the Udupi District Committee of the
Karnataka Dalita Sangharsha Samithi (Prof. B Krishnappa founded ), has alleged.
With the Udupi MP and former state BJP chief DV Sadananda Gowda
appointed as the in-charge of BJP affairs in Kerala, it can clearly be said that the
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has gained an upper hand in the veiled war

“ Dakshina Kannada District Minister Krishna Palemar had a role to play
behind the permission granted by the Department of Mines and Geology, for sand
transportation from the coastal belt, despite a government as well as High Court order

“ Last December, the rebellion within the BJP government had reached
even upto Delhi. Had I intended to bring down the Government, I would have done
so then itself. But without doing so I had suggested the government to sort out the

he is accompanied by two politicians —Acharya and Dhananjaya Kumar on either sides.
