Though the Regional Transport Authority at its meeting held under the presidentship of Deputy Commissioner recently has resolved to reduce the autorickshaw minimum fare to Rs 20 from the existing Rs 25, the autorickshaw drivers of the city are hesitant to effect the change in fares.
Mohammad Ansar of the Autorickshaw Drivers Association affiliated to the CITU says “We do not have any objection to reduction in fares. But, let the administration first ensure reduction in prices of essential commodities and hotel food rates.”

MCC entrusts water billing to new agency after complaints  of discrepancies

The Mangalore City Corporation has given the water billing contract to a new agency of Karkala after the previous contract agency was charged with irregularities and fleecing water consumers. The new agency is likely to commence operations in February.
