Pvt buses encroach KSRTC bus stand in Moodbidri

MOODBIDRI: Moodbidri is a fast growing town which feels there was a need for better

and efficient KSRTC bus services to several places from this town. But can people of

Moodbidri expect better service from the KSRTC when the corporation does not have

even a proper name board for its office in the town?

Though the TMC had earmarked some open space near the Rajeev Gandhi complex in

the town for the KSRTC bus stand and had even put up a sign board here, what has been

noticed at present is that no KSRTC bus halts here. The reason being that the private

buses have completely encroached this bus stand leaving no space for he KSRTC buses.

Therefore, KSRTC buses rarely enter the bus stand but pick up and drop passengers on

the roadside and leave the place.
If this is the condition of the bus stand, there is no need to explain the condition of

the traffic controller?s office. A small name board has been put up outside this office.

Moreover the staff of this office are absent during morning and evening times making it

convenient for the buses to skip entering the bus stand.

But people waiting inside the stand for the government buses are greatly inconvenienced

with this. There is a need for the KSRTC authorities to take steps to see that the KSRTC

bus stand in the town is meant only for the KSRTC buses and not private buses.
