PUTTUR: State Minister for Power Shobha Karandlaje is often flanked by her loyalists
wherever she goes in the state. But contrarily she was left all alone at a function held at
Puttur on October 24, Sunday. The absence of any BJP leader of Puttur during Shobha’s
visit has now given room for much debate.
On October 24, Sunday Shobha had come to Savanoor to inspect a site for a power
generation unit. Shobha went straight to Savanoor from her house at Charvaka. Except
for Gram Panchayat officials not even a single local BJP leader had accompanied her.
Even at Puttur, none of the local BJP leaders welcomed her.
It is believed that the local BJP leaders were disgruntled with Shobha and had thus
expressed their anger against her. It may be recalled here that Shobha who had once
earlier visited Puttur while she was the rural development minister, had not chosen to
visit the BJP office in the town.
Here it is noteworthy that the local unit the BJP had not even congratulated Shobha on
her becoming the minister for the second time. What is being said as of now is that it was
her high handed behaviour that made local leaders keep her at bay.
