MANJESHWAR: The recent case of the public raiding the ashram of the Kajikatte
Swami near Paivalike alleging immoral activities by the seer, has now taken a new twist.
The so called Durgananda Swami of the ashram who had escaped during the attack held
on the night of July 21, has appeared in a hospital at Kumble and has lodged a police
complaint. Even the young woman who was in the ashram with the swami has been
admitted to the hospital.
When pressmen enquired about the incident with the swami, he questioned ‘which
woman, where? and said this was not any case pertaining to a woman. but was owing to
some financial dispute. He said “ Four months ago, one Ratnaker Shetty had sought a
loan of Rs 3 lakhs from me. But when I refused, Shetty along with his supporters raided
the ashram and have attacked me.”
The seer has complained that on July 21, a group of around 50 had barged into his ashram
with lethal weapons, attacked him, and damaged his car. He in his complaint has also
alleged that since then RSS and BJP workers were telephoning him continuously and
threatening him against making the matter public.
When the Manjeshwar police were contacted, it was informed that cases have been
registered against 15 persons including Udaya, Ashok and Rajesh, residents of
Kayarkatte, as per the complaint lodged by the swami.
