BELTHANGADY: Traces of some unidentified persons digging a well shaped pit near a
Nagabana at Kalai in Machina village have been found, with rumours doing the rounds
that some people had dug up the place in search for some treasure.
The Nagabana is located in the land belonging to Sridhar Poojari who however says
he isn’t aware as to who might have resorted to such an act. He however suspects
an astrologer and his team who had been to his place saying they would develop the
Nagabana.
It is also learnt that this group of strangers had enquired with several families in the
vicinity about the location of the Nagabana. Locals also say that this group had come by a
Maruti 800. But, it is still not clear if the strangers could lay their hands on the treasure or
if there was actually some treasure at the spot or not.
