MYSORE: Kuruba community leader Vijayshanker would be made a member of the Upper House and then inducted into the cabinet thereby creating another Kuruba leader and reducing the influence of Siddaramaiah in the state politics. This would also remove the obstacles faced by his confidante Shobha Karandlaje in ruling Mysore. This is the latest strategy of Chief Minister Yeddyurappa to hit two birds with a single stone.

Sources revealed that already the BJP has decided to provide the party ticket to Somanna who lost the BBMP elections and Vijayshanker, Tippanna and DC Tammanna. It has also been decided to have Mukhyamantri Chandru and Narayana S Bandege as nominated members.

BJP leaders of Mysore always had a grouse that their district was not given any representation in the cabinet. The problem would be solved if Vijayshanker is made the minister. This would also help in keeping under check the local BJP leader Ramadas who always used to stand up against Shobha. Not only that, it would also project another Kuruba leader against Congress leader Siddaramaiah who also belongs to the same community.
