MOODBIDRI: A young pair which was reported missing since the past few days was traced at Balehonnur as married couple.
When the Moodbidri police enquired the young woman in the presence of her parents, she expressed her desire to return with her husband thereby ending the case peacefully.
Divya (19) of Mantradi village had eloped with a Dalit youth named Lakshman (30) a few days ago. It is learnt, love blossomed between them when Lakshman was a driver of the car owned by Divya’s father, some time back.
Back at home, her family had fixed her marriage with another youth on May 16 despite Divya’s unwillingness forcing her to elope with her lover and marry him.
Police who had gathered hint that the pair was in Balehonnur at a relative’s place of Lakshman, visited the place and brought the pair back to Moodbidri.
