Land grab complaint against Rai : Lokayukta pulls up Harikrishna Bantwal

Mangaluru : Lokayukta Justice P Vishwanath Shetty has pulled up Harikrishna Bantwal, an expelled Congressman who recently joined the BJP, when the latter tried to lodge a complaint accusing DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai of land grab.
Harikrishna Bantwal who had earlier at a press meet alleged that the Minister had illegally acquired ten acres land at Kallige and one acre at Maani in Bantwal Taluk, was present at the Public Grievance Redressal Meet of the Lokayukta held in Mangaluru.
No sooner Harikrishna filed the complaint, Justice Shetty retorted saying “If you are using this issue for political gains, then I will not taken up investigation.” He also questioned why Harikrishna Bantwal divulged the details before the media prior to lodging Lokayukta complaint.
Harikrishna Bantwal tried to defend himself stating there was no politics and that he only wanted an investigation.
The Lokayukta then told Harikrishna Bantwal that his complaint would be scrutinised and if deemed fit will be registered. A decision would be taken in this regard later, he added.
