Mangaluru : Veteran actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan is donning the grease paint for a Tulu film for the very first time. She will be seen in a prominent role in the movie named ‘Amber Caterers’ to be brought out under the banner of Nageshwara Cine Combines.
By the way Bharathi says she had a liking for Tulu movies since long. She recollects having seen some Tulu films while she was the jury at a film festival in Bengaluru. ” I had really liked the theme as well as the quality of some Tulu films. When a director contacted me asking if I would act in a Tulu movie, I willingly agreed thinking it as my luck,” says Bharathi.
Bharathi’s connection with Mangaluru dates back to several years. Some scenes of her first movie `Love in Bengaluru’ were shot at a beach in Mangaluru. ” During the shooting I was about to get washed away in the waters, but a production boy had saved me,” she recalled and said in an emotional tone that Mangauru was a city that gave rebirth to her.
She also states that several movies of her husband late Vishnuvardhan were also shot in and around Mangaluru.
Bharathi says she too has learnt Tulu a bit and hopes to master the language by the time the shooting of ‘Amber Caterers’ is complete.
