With existing public lavatories stinking, MCC decides to construct 34 more

Mangaluru : The Mangaluru City Corporation has decided to construct 34 public lavatories at various places in the MCC limits under the Swachh Bharath scheme.
Though there are already several public toilets and bath rooms at different area in the city, the bitter truth is that most of these are stinking and people refrain from using them. Presently the city has public toilets at State Bank bus stand area, near Service Bus stand, on Ganapathi High School Road, Kankanady and Hoigebazar, but none of them are in good condition forcing men to relieve themselves on roadsides. It is also a fact that women are the most inconvenienced lot in the absence of good toilets as they refrain from using the existing ones due to their ill-maintenance.
Presently, the MCC plans to construct 34 public lavatories near State Bank Junction, near Lady Goschen Hospital, Pumpwell Circle, Ekkur Junction, Morgansgate, near RTO office, Urvastores, Kulur, Bondel, Pachanady Junctions, Yeyyadi, near KPT Petrol Bunk, Kadri, Mallikatte and Ballalbagh.
