MANGALORE : Sri Rama Sene leader Prasad Attavar, who has been arrested on the charges of having links with underworld don Ravi Poojari, has once again been handed over to the police custody. The court which had earlier handed over him to police custody for three days to facilitate interrogation, has now agreed to hand him over to police custody for another two days.
During the first custody, Attavar could not be interrogated on one day after he complained of being sick, while on the rest two days, he had made several revelations during the interrogation. Even his laptop had been seized then and the phone numbers of several businessmen were found in it. Police had even informed that his pen drive was loaded with sex videos and that he used to call businessmen in the name of Ravi Poojari using the Voice over Protocol Technology in internet.
But, what has been noticed is that the triple murderer running a newspaper is projecting Attavar as innocent as the two are ‘hafta partners.’
A senior police officer has also expressed his anguish over the particular newspaper for not publishing any report on the investigation and instead only passing the blame on the cops.
A warning to Bhajrangdal
The arrest of the Sri Rama Sene’s State Co-Convenor Prasad Attavar who had proved a bane to the society through the moral policing acts, without succumbing to any political pressure, is largely viewed as a warning issued to the Bhajrangdal activists by the police department. Here it is noteworthy that the Bhajrangdal has not involved in any moral policing acts, ever since Attavar has been arrested. It is also being said that it is owing to this reason that the Bhajrangdal despite having information of obscene dance underway in two hotels in Mangalore, did not raid the place, but allowed the cops to conduct the raid.
