Wine shop owner attacks wife

UDUPI : Jeevan Kumar, owner of the Tripti wine shop on Maruti Veethika Road in Udupi and a resident of Kaup has been accused of attacking and threatening his wife Mallika.
It is learnt Jeevan had married Mallika in the year 2002 and had later on even secured a cash of Rs 1.5 lakhs from her parental home. Reports said he attacked Mallika who questioned him for reprimanding her brother and father.
It is said Jeevan had attacked Mallika twice earlier too, but the cases were then settled through talks. Now after Jeevan attacked her again, Mallika has lodged a complaint with the Kaup police. The accused is said to be absconding.
