UDUPI : A verbal duel that ensued between two groups, one in favour of the Kolalagiri Sacred Heart Church parish priest and another against the parish priest, over the incident of a student writing vulgar words regarding a lady student on the church walls, was later on settled through talks at the Brahmavar police station.
It is learnt a student belonging to the Christian community had used some vulgar words against a female student in a writing on the wall of the church lavatory on December 23, 2009. The parish priest had then summoned the student and enquired him. However he had not informed the student’s parents on this issue.
Meanwhile, the parish priest raised the matter while awarding rank in a religious test to the particular female student, at the church last Sunday. This infuriated the mother of the male student who erred, resulting in a verbal duel between two groups. The matter was finally settled at the station. It is also said that a constable of Shirva station even attacked a student during the incident. The student’s mother has lodged a complaint with the Brahmavar police.
