MANGALORE : It has come to light of late that tenth standard lessons are conducted for ninth standard students in some schools in Puttur and Subrahmanya, with an intention of securing 100 per cent results in SSLC exams.
Reports said tenth standard classes have already commenced for the ninth standard students in Pragathi Schools of Puttur and Subrahmanya. Sadanand Rai, Principal of the School has said “ We have started tenth standard lessons in English grammar and Maths for the ninth standard students in February.”
“ We have made this arrangement for the convenience of the students. There is no question of pressure on the students. Fifteen minutes each have been allocated for all subjects. This arrangement has been made after discussions with the teachers, students and their parents. The school has secured 100 per cent results in the last eight years. Our aim is to achieve a similar feat even this year. We are preparing our children to face the exams,” the Principal further adds.
Official clarifies
“ We are unaware of this. We have not told any school to conduct tenth standard classes to ninth standard students. We will find out how the students are managing to simultaneously study ninth and tenth standard lessons. Until then we will not react to this development,”clarifies education officer Chamegowda.
