Rai hits out at BJP for comments on ‘goondaism’

Bantwal : DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai has hit back at the BJP which has made a mockery of him by stating that he was involved merely in the task of breaking coconuts by attending functions.
Speaking to reporters here Rai referring to the allegations of BJP that the Congressmen were resorting to goondaism, said it is the BJP which has a history of picketing police stations and hindering the police from discharging their duties, when its party government was in power. “There have been instances in the district when some of its leaders have welcomed goonda elements with garlands and have even spoken in favour of accused in moral policing incidents.” Rai rebuked.
He made it clear that he never resorted to politics in sanctioning grants and alleged that MP Nalin Kumar who claims maximum utilisation of his MP funds however has been unable to secure even an extra grant of a single paisa from his own party’s government at the Centre.
If the BJP government in the state had a tainted tenure, the Siddaramaiah government has provided a corruption-free administration, said Rai.
