BANTWAL : The Deputy Secretary of the Chief Minister has written a letter to the Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department seeking to initiate necessary steps to provide suitable compensation to the farmers who would be losing their lands due to the second vented dam coming up at Tumbay with a view to improve the water supply situation to Mangalore.
The response has come in the wake of the second letter addressed to the Chief Minister by the Action Committee of farmers affected by the project, seeking compensation to the affected farmers. The Chief Minister’s secretariat has forwarded a letter to M Subrahmanya Bhat, General Secretary of the Committee hinting at the possibility of necessary steps towards the direction of fulfilling the demands of the Committee.
