Dissidence in Puttur BJP still unresolved

PUTTUR : There are no signs of the dissidence that has cropped up in the Puttur BJP following the appointment of Gopalakrishna Herale as the Taluk BJP President, subsiding, with the faction led by Bhami Ashok Shenoy abstaining from a reconciliatory meeting organized at Panchavati under the leadership of RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat.
Bhami Shenoy who has now emerged as a prominent dissident leader of the BJP in Puttur, had in fact strived much for the party in the taluk and was even instrumental in strengthening the party from the grass roots level. It is said he had even played a pivotal role in getting elected DV Sadananda Gowda as MLA of Puttur once earlier. Though even DVS had always paid heed to Shenoy’s words, in the recent past, he it is learnt, had distance himself from the latter and had even maintained proximity with the newly appointed taluk BJP chief Gopalakrishna Herale who, party workers feel had given scope for dissidence in the party once earlier by reportedly pressurizing the leadership against giving ticket to Shakuntala Shetty to contest from Puttur, thereby paving way for the formation of the Swabhimani Vedike by Ram Bhat and Shakuntala.
With a veiled war continuing between the loyalists of Herale and Bhami, the latter has even quit his post as chairman of Puttur urban development authority.
