Sub-standard works on Maani-Mysore stretch irks locals

PUTTUR : Once again there are complaints that the works on the Maani-Mysore state highway are sub-standard. It is said that the authorities had shrugged off their responsibilities by laying a very narrow drainage pipe instead of the prescribed large pipe on the sides of the road leading to the Kukkumugeru temple.

The construction of the side drains adjacent to the road, has also left no space for the pedestrians, posing great risk to the lives of passersby particularly children who are forced to step on to the road. To add to the problem, the soil dumped over the drain, has eroded at several places, leading to accidents. Already a few two-wheeler riders have skidded and sustained injuries here, complain villagers.
