MANGALORE: Reports of late reveal that most of police stations in the Mangalore Police Commissionerate limits had Sangh Parivar middleman and that every case is settled through their intervention.

The Commissionerate limits has 17 police stations each equipped with enough police personnel and modern gadgets. Still, there are some Sangh Parivar agents who pose as super cops and control the stations. The Kankanady police station under whose jurisdiction Padil where the Morning mist home stay attack took place, too is no exception.

It has now been alleged that the Subhash Padil team had raided the Home Stay after informing the Kankanady police and that the Pandeshwar police who had taken the young women at the Stay Home to the station, had even reprimanded the girls.

Past history also reveal that almost in every moral policing incident, the police had directly supported the vigilante group. Recently, the so called saviours of culture had thrashed a young pair at Morgansgate and had handed them over to the Pandeshwar police. The police, instead of initiating action against the moral policemen, had thrashed the young man before letting him go. The woman was made to remain in the station till 11 pm.

If this is not suffice, almost all communal related cases coming up before the Suratkal and Panambur stations are settled through the intervention of Satyajit Suratkal of Hindu Jagarana Vedike. It is these super cops who decide who are to be fixed.

Last year, Bhajrangis had raided the Someshwara resort and constables Gangadhar and Devu Shetty who had enquired Sharan Pumpwell, the accused in this case, have been transferred to Pandeshwar and Panambur stations.

When the body of Kodikere Shivaraj who was killed, was being taken to his home recently, a team of Tokur Manoj, Loknath had attacked two innocents at Honnakatte. Eyewitnesses say the police who had rushed to the spot, were threatened by Lokanath himself.

SI GK Dasari who had registered a case against Kalladka Bhat for instigating communal violence in January was transferred from Uppinangady to Karwar Traffic station. The then SP Labhuram, was transferred and a few cops suspended for the folly (?) of arresting BJP men who had stoned Sullia station.

It has been learnt that a “B” report has been filed in the court with regard to the case against Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat.
