PUTTUR : A timely action by the Puttur TMC officials in preventing a lorry which was all set to dump wastes on roadside near the bye-pass here, has been much appreciated by residents of the town.

The TMC had earlier received a complaint that some people were dumping wastes on the roadside near Makkala Mantapa, making the entire are unclean. However, the officials until recently had failed to identify the culprits who sometimes used to dump poultry wastes during night time. But, on Thursday, when a lorry belonging to Vinyas Constructions of Puttur was found unloading wastes here, Sudhaker, Chief Officer of the TMC rushed to the spot and warned them against doing so in the future. He also warned that the vehicle will be seized if wastes were dumped in the area again. The TMC officer has further warned of stern legal action against anyone disposing wastes as and where pleased in the town.
