MOODBIDRI : Moodbidri TMC Councilor Koragappa has alleged that a road has been laid unauthorisedly in a government land of a Dalit Colony at Gandhinagar in Marpady village. He has also said that an attempt was now underway to demolish an under construction house which was coming in the way of the road.

Speaking to reporters, he said one Sanjeeva whose new house is under construction by availing loan is under threat. He also alleged that one Alwyn Walter D’Souza who has purchased land in the vicinity, has laid the road to have an approach road to his site. He has also threatened Sanjeeva and a few women who tried to prevent him, Koragappa alleged.

He said injustice has been done to the local Dalits and alleged that the complaint lodged with the police and local TMC proved futile. Koragappa also clarified that he had nothing to do with Sanjeeva who was constructing the house and added that self-proclaimed Dalit leaders Neelayya and Honnayya by colluding with the land owner had leveled false allegations against him.

He further said Alwyn’s land already has an approach road and there was no need for him to construct another approach road. He said laying of road illegally in a Dalit colony would not be permitted.

A few residents of the Dalit colony were also present.
