MANGALORE : A team of MCC officials led by Joint Commissioner Srikanth Rao has stayed the construction works of a college building near Kottara Chowki in Mangalore, terming it as unauthorized. A notice is also pasted on the building terming it as ‘Unauthorized building.’

The building is pertaining to the Mahesh PU College which is proposed to come up in a 20,000 square feet area in three floors. The MCC had served a notice to the college authorities who had published an advertisement about the inaugural date in a newspaper, even before the building could get the licence. However, the notice had gone unresponded. However, the latest action followed a complaint by a neighboring resident who faced problems due to water clogging owing to the blocking of a storm water drain to facilitate the construction.

Joint Commissioner Srikanth Rao has said such operations against unauthorized constructions would continue in the days to come.
