UDUPI : It has been reliably learnt that Shivakumar, Superintendent of the Udupi District Prison at Hiriadka who had abstained from duty since the past five days, was instead misusing his official vehicle to visit various places including Dharmasthala along with his family members.

Sources within the jail have themselves revealed that Shivakumar who was posted in the district prison five months ago, instead of residing in his government quarters had made a room at the Ashraya lodge at Ontibettu near Hiriadka his permanent place of stay. As if this was not suffice, the officer who abstained from duty since some days, even reportedly went on a tour of various places in his official vehicle along with wife, children and two lady constables of the prison.
