Apathy of elected representatives irks Olamogaru villagers

PUTTUR: Villages of Olamogaru in Puttur taluk have expressed their resentment over the elected representatives who have failed to mitigate the drinking water problem faced by the village since some time.

.Villagers says though the gram panchayat members have tried their level best within their limits to solve the problem, it has not been of much help. They at the same time complain that the taluk panchayat members representing the area, despite being fully aware of the problem, have failed to respond. They have also made no effort to effectively utilize the TP grants and solve the problem, villagers say.

They also have a grouse against the ZP member representing the area-that he has not visited the village after winning elections, except on a couple of occasions.

On the other hand, there is a complaint that people who benefitted from the panchayat water supply, have however failed to pay their water bills regularly further adding to the woes of the local gram panchayat which was finding it difficult to manage the water supply system.
