VITTAL : The police team led by Puttur ASP has nabbed two members of a notorious gang of bike lifters.The arrested are Sahul Hameed of Urimajalu and Siddique,a resident of Soorya.Investigations have revealed that they were part of the notorious bike lifting gang of Jabir of Uppala and Mohammad Ashraf of Vittal. The two were arrested on suspicion when they were heading towards Puttur from Kabaka in a Hero Honda Passion Bike On enquiry, it came to light that they did not possess any documents of the vehicle and also that it was a stolen bike.
Earlier, as many as four bikes were reported stolen in the town forcing locals to pressurise the police department to crack down the bike lifting racket.
