PUTTUR : A person hailing from Chikkamudnur village has lodged a complaint with the Puttur

town police alleging that the negligence of the doctors and staff of the Puttur Government

Hospital, was responsible for the death of his wife after delivery.

Geetha, a resident of Beeranahitlu had been admitted to the hospital on October 10 for her

second delivery. On October 14, a caesarean surgery was performed along with a family

planning operation. Though Geetha was shifted to the general ward, her condition worsened

very soon and she couldn?t pass urine. Doctors suggested that she be taken to a hospital in

Mangalore. When she was later admitted to Wenlock Hospital, doctors informed that she has

suffered from a kidney failure. Geetha died the same night.

Geetha?s husband Dinesh who has lodged a complaint has blamed the Puttur government

hospital doctors and nurses for the death of his wife.

A few months ago, a woman had died in the hospital after delivery and the latest case has

brought in a fear among people to get admitted to this hospital for delivery.

Meanwhile, Dr Sandeep of the Puttur government hospital clarifying on the case said ? Geetha

was given blood during delivery. But, there had been some reaction due to mismatch of blood.

Such cases are one in ten thousand. There was no negligence on our part.?
