UDUPI : The Kundapur Taluk Raitha Sangha has submitted a memorandum to the Deputy
Commissioner requesting for measures to see that adequate quantity of fertilizers was available
in the cooperative societies. The Sangha pointed out that the farming community was facing
hardship due to non-availability of fertilizers in accordance to demand at the Kundapur Taluk
Agricultural Co-operative Society. The Sangha has also warned of a protest outside the DC
office if steps were not taken to fulfill the demand within the next three days.
? As fertilizers are available at a subsidized rate in the co-operative society, it has been
benefitting farmers. But, lack of enough stock, has proved to be a hindrance, forcing farmers
to purchase fertilizers from other outlets at higher prices,? the Sangha said and appealed for
measures to maintain adequate stock of fertilizers in the co-operative.
