MOODBIDRI: A pothole that has appeared on the road in front of the old police station in the
town at a place where the state highway joins the national highway, has proved to be a veritable
death trap to motorists, particularly two-wheeler riders.
Beneath this road is the Kalsanka storm water drain and it is being said that the TMC was using
this narrow storm water drain as a drainage by raising concrete walls on the side.
Though the pothole had appeared at this very same place even last year, it was repaired by the
NH department by undertaking some patch works. But the repair work has not lasted long as
is evident now. With hundreds of vehicles plying on this road daily, the danger is very well
understood. Moreover, the absence of any caution sigh board in the area, has given room for
more danger, particularly during night time in the event of a power cut. It is hoped the TMC
would take some steps to close this dangerous pothole at the earliest.
