KASARGOD : The heavy rains which various parts of Kasargod are experiencing since
the past few days has left several rivers overflowing in the district. The famous Madhur
Sri Madanantheshwara Kshetra is also surrounded by water.
The Madhuvahini lakes which flows near the Kshetra is overflowing and its waters has
entered the temple precincts. On June 18, Saturday, hundreds of devotees visiting the
shrine had to struggle to wade through the waters to enter the temple sanctum sanctorum.
The Madhur Temple gets inundated during every monsoon. However, the regret is that
the administration has so far not initiated any measure to prevent the inundation of the
temple which has been inconveniencing the devotees.
